What we do & why we do it
Deeds Not Words
In 2008 English Heritage commissioned us to create a play celebrating the Suffrage movement. Our play focused on events and characters linked to the Great Suffragette rally in Hyde Park in 1908.
We like to focus on the social element of an historical event, and so for this we looked at the lives of ordinary people, while also referring to the famous characters involved. The play was a 3 hander designed to work in any space and for any environment and as such we performed the play outdoors at a number of English Heritage sites over 2 years, including the Festival of History.
In recent years we have revived Deeds Not Words and in particular in 2018 as we celebrated some women getting the vote in 1918.
