WHAT WE DO & WHY WE DO IT
Breaking the Chains
An open air play for three actors exploring issues around the anniversary of the bill prohibiting the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Created after consultation with Black History groups, Breaking the Chains told the story of three characters directly and indirectly caught up in the campaign to abolish the transportation of slaves; a worker in a chain making foundry, a daughter of a judge and her black companion. Using information gained from our consultation, Breaking the Chains's conclusions were surprising and thought-provoking.
